RESEARCH PROPOSAL
There have been several attempts to find the gene for JKD. None have been successful. This may be due to any one of a number of genetic (DNA) difficulties, or to the lack of full understanding of the disease itself. Boxerjkd.com has attracted a top nephrologist to help with the latter.
The work will require fading puppies and post mortem kidneys from affected older dogs.
This notice constitutes an appeal to Boxer owners for help with collection of such material, all in absolute confidence.
